Wind Tunnel Sections

  • Construction – Computer formed sections fabricated from noise reducing 14 gauge steel. Frame of heavy duty standard steel shapes.
  • Fasteners – All fasteners are Aircraft Mil Specification quality.
  • Overall Length of Unit – 74" front to back
  • Entrance Cone – Contraction Ratio Twelve to one
  • Inlet – Square; 18" x 18"
  • Shape design – Provides continuously increasing velocity from entrance to test section while reducing adverse gradients, boundary layer and, wall separation.

Flow Straightener

  • Material – Plastic honeycomb
  • L/D Ratio – Ten to one; 2-1/2" length with  -inc-inch diameter.

Test Section

  • Velocity – maximum 55 mph (80 fps, 25 m/s)
  • Clear field of view – Yes; Plexiglas top and side walls allow almost total field of view for observation of test in progress.
