The Chassis Supsension Fixture is design to allow for the chassis to be raised and lowered in a precise manner. The dial indicators contacting the test wheels give “Chamber Change” and “Bump Steer” data as the vehicles ride height changes. The lesson plans have been developed to allow for extensive "hands-on" education in the use of Geometry and Trigonometry. The students can calculate what the results will be in making changes to the suspension and then run a test to evaluate their calculations.
The vehicles chassis can also be rolled about a center point to evaluate the suspension movement as the vehicle rolls.
There are also lesson plans developed for the students to calculate and test the turning radius of the vehicle with the wheels set a different angles.
This a great tool to bring complex math to life.
